Phraktal is back with “Purple Dragon,” a meticulously crafted ten-track album that has taken two years to complete. Following recent releases on Mixmag, Rough Cut, Mirabilis, and Bakroom, this album features collaborations with three talented artists.
One of the standout tracks is “That’s Bass Music,” a high-energy collaboration with longtime friend Jamez (of Touche/Rough Cut Records) that’s sure to get the dancefloor moving. Another highlight, “The Drums,” presents a hypnotic marching groove enriched with analogue synths and sinewave bass, paired with an infectious tribal rhythm and evolving pads that add depth to the music.
The title track, “Purple Dragon,” is a stripped-down house gem that pays homage to the deep house vibes of labels like Plastic City and I Records, showcasing Phraktal’s versatility and appreciation for various electronic genres.
“Camarada,” a collaboration with OUD!N13, also known as Nicolas Gaugain from the renowned French duo G-Prod, is another standout. This track features smooth melodic tones, occasional bursts of white noise, precise drum programming, and intricately woven synth progressions that lead to a mesmerising breakdown, followed by a subtle yet effective reconstruction of all elements.
All tracks from the album are available for licensing through 23rd Precinct. For more information and updates, visit our official websites:
